About Me
Hello, I'm Kata, a professional singer, graduated from Escuela de Música de Buenos Aires (EMBA), with previous studies at the Manuel de Falla Music Conservatory.

I have been teaching vocal lessons for more than 8 years. And, since I'm an independent singer-songwriter the rest of the time, I've started teaching others how to make their own music too: from beginner music theory, to producing, mixing, recording, plus how to distribute your songs to music stores.

I have taught vocal lessons to students of various ages and levels. I have worked both in music schools and as a private teacher.

Everything I teach is based on what I've learned from teachers of different backgrounds over the years, as well as my personal experience as a vocalist and musician.

I believe there's no such thing as not being cut out for a discipline. I always say: if you're not good at something, it just means you need more practice.

So if you've always wanted to sing or write songs, you can book a lesson with me anytime, and I'll teach you everything I know.

Hello!

Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed!
Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but with the right guidance and the correct practice, I’m sure you will learn in no time! I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all.
My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain is for the time of the class.

If you struggle with vocal fatigue, throat tightness on high notes, fear of pitch-matching, or non-surgical hoarseness, you can leave those obstacles behind. Singing and healthy voice production are not fixed, innate talents; they are learnable skills rooted in vocal biomechanics, nervous system regulation, and mind-auditory harmony.

At the core of my teaching is an anatomical and holistic approach that frees the voice from rigid, high-pressure drills. I provide a safe, judgment-free space where mistakes are welcomed as a natural part of growth, helping you release involuntary tension in the jaw, tongue root, neck, and posture.

In our lessons, we focus on:

Biomechanical Range & Ease: Expanding your vocal range and hitting bright, powerful high notes without squeezing or straining the throat.

Vocal Health & SOVT Recovery: Restoring vocal stamina and clarity in cases of functional hoarseness, raspiness, or early vocal fatigue using semi-occluded vocal tract (SOVT / Lax Vox) and vocal massage techniques.

Pitch Matching & Ear Coordination: Eliminating the fear of singing out of tune with step-by-step auditory exercises designed to accurately connect your ear and vocal muscles.

Anxiety & Postural Alignment: Managing performance anxiety and body tension through nervous-system-calming breathwork and balanced postural habits.

Occupational Voice Coaching: Strain-free speaking and stamina training for teachers, public speakers, lawyers, and voice professionals.

Tailored Digital Practice: Custom audio exercises provided after each lesson to solidify healthy muscle memory at home.

I offer lessons exclusively dedicated to jazz singing, focusing on interpretation, exploring the jazz repertoire, and music theory applied to jazz. These sessions are for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the world of jazz, from beginners to intermediate levels, as well as those who wish to prepare for conservatory entrance auditions.

- Jazz Style and Interpretation: Work on jazz phrasing, swing, rhythm and text placement on the great jazz standards.

- Jazz Improvisation and Scat: Introduction to jazz vocal improvisation and development of melodic invention.

- Applied Jazz Theory and Ear Training: Reading jazz chord charts, understanding jazz harmony and working on listening skills.

- Essential vocal technique: Basic concepts (breathing, posture) addressed in a practical way according to the needs of the jazz piece being studied.

The goal is to provide concrete tools to sing the jazz repertoire independently, develop your own stylistic identity or succeed in your conservatory entrance exams.
